Baby Fever in Creatures Docking Station

After the alpha couple had been determined, Fawkix wasted no time in showing off to the other females! Naeda’s sister, Tolis, was the next to become pregnant: Apparently the alpha male had a weak spot for the sisters! Zeera seemed a little jealous of Tolis, and the latter promptly decided to run away in search of Fawkix. Ryleen kept to herself, although she made a pretty picture with the others. Little did I know that I had lots of work just waiting for me in the land of Remniova! Quite the usual sort of hubbub that Creatures brings with it.

Tolis curled up with Fawkix to lay her eggs, which was a wonderful sight. However, Zeera was furious when she found out that her twin, Hintiva, would soon lay her own eggs. Talk about a serious case of jealousy! This left me with a lot of eggs to juggle: There were the three from Naeda, two from Tolis, and another two from Hintiva. I desperately hoped that Fawkix would slow down just a bit… He was a very popular Norn, but I had no qualms with him pacing himself! At least the Scribble Room was a little less crowded after Tolis and Hintiva had been exported: Maybe that’s what sparked Fawkix!

Soon, Fawkix and Naeda’s original three eggs crackled open to reveal fraternal triplets. They were irresistibly adorable: Look at all of those stripes and spots! They most resembled their mother, aside from Ashyl’s predominantly Bengal Norn looks. She and her older sister, Whinn, would grow up in the Norn Meso with the other females, although they would be exported before they could breed. Prindar, on the other hand, was the first Norn to begin the alpha male succession test. He was such an interesting mix between different Norn breeds, and I loved how unique he was. I left him in the learning room, where he seemed to stumble about. Hopefully he would eventually make it to the door and be greeted by the beautiful Norn Terrarium!

With little time to spare, I raced back to watch the first egg from Tolis hatch. Euvak emerged from the darkness, and seemed to want to race all around the world! He was quickly exported, which made me begin to wonder what sort of chance an inferior female with twins would have when it came to passing along her genes. Only their daughters would remain in the world. With one male, Tolis had to rely on her second egg to reveal a female. Otherwise, her direct line would die.

An enormous wave of relief broke over me as I met Tolis’ second child: A daughter named Davira! Interestingly, Fawkix had yet to pass along the appearance gene for his head. All of his children seemed to inherit the majority of their appearance genes from their mothers. In any case, Davira was whisked off to the Norn Meso where she could make friends and grow up in a place filled with food. Tolis would live on! Aside from her tail, Davira was almost a copy of her mother.

Fawkix decided that he had given me enough rest… As I watched over Hintiva’s two eggs, both Tentha and Bashil caught the alpha male’s attention! Yet again, Tentha had just a pair of eggs like many of the other females. Bashil struck gold, though: She had a total of four eggs to offer the world! Poor Chiare was right around Fawkix, but he took no interest in her. I still find it odd that she’s been labeled as an outcast, for no apparent reason. Perhaps irony will eventually win out, and a daughter of hers will end up as the next alpha female. First, though, she has the wonderful task of convincing Fawkix to kisspop with her!

After I managed to organize the Norns and get things in order, I waited for the first of Hintiva’s eggs to hatch. Out popped a beautiful little female, whom I named Inlex! She looked very similar to her father, but her face was still inherited from her mother. This was actually a positive feature, since it meant that there would be a lot of diversity for the next generation. Inlex was able to quickly join the growing group of young females in the Norn Meso. Their small group was slowly growing… And growing! Would she have a twin sister?

Alas, it was not to be so. However, Bravig was identical to Inlex, save for his gender. He was exported within his first minute or so. I plan to add a number of new additions to CreatureLink very soon: Any which have not been adopted will be added to another world, and their offspring will be available in the second link of the chain. No Norn will sit about in an unused file for too long, thankfully! For the time being, I had another six eggs to collect, hatch, and sort. I only hoped Fawkix would stay asleep, or isolate himself. He wasted no time populating the next generation!
