Creatures 2 Albian Ant Norns: The Beginning

I have long searched for a reason to pick up Creatures 2 again. I’ve always loved the scenery, but the glitches usually led me to play C1 and C3/DS instead. As of today, that changed! C-Rex released the Albian Ant Norns today, and I knew I simply had to have them! After a short setup, I hatched my first egg, which turned out to be a male with a very cliche name. Who hasn’t had a male named Flik with their Albian Ant Norns yet? Ha ha! I was in love with him, and he even headed over towards the ant’s nest… Could he know that he was fashioned after these insects?

After making his fellow ants into a meal, Flik headed off to play. In a matter of minutes, he had already blossomed into a mature Norn! With the main goal of breeding before death, it was easy to understand the quick life stage changes. I introduced two other males, Azure and Norman, before I considered hatching the only female. She would become the queen of this little colony. I watched the males actually eat on their own and take care of themselves… Seemed like a rare occurrence in Creatures 2!

So it came to be that the aptly named Atta joined the group. She was still too young to take notice of the males, but a lone ant held her curiosity and gave her something to focus in on. With such a rapidly aging breed, I don’t intend to keep an in-depth log of these Norns as I do with my C1 and C3/DS Norns. However, I think these will make an excellent group to document in Creatures 2! Updates might be a little further between and could span several generations, but any reason I can find to enjoy C2 again is a good one. Besides, C-Rex did a nice job with making the Albian Ant Norns attractive and genetically unique!

All was still and peaceful in the little valley my Norns could call home. Suddenly, something stirred among the plants. It was… An anteater! Everyone went into hiding. That included myself, for coming up with such a ridiculous joke! It looked like the anteater was only interested in the very small variety of ants, but Flik wasn’t about to take any chances. At least he knew that he now had competition for those cannibalistic snacks! It was a wonderful time to be a Norn, and this C2 breed was exactly the sort that I had been hoping for. Download and try them out today!
