The Inexplicable Feeling of Guilt and a Crashed World

It always seems like the best lessons are learned too late… My Creatures 1 world had grown altogether strange, and the lack of pregnancies among all of the kisspopping convinced me that it was time for a quick move! Everyone was exported successfully, but disaster struck on the mass import. I forgot to backup the exported files, and Dwyvach’s entrance caused a crash. Nearly everyone was saved, but my beloved Doli was lost, along with Dwyvach. Fortunately, they left behind two eggs of their own, and Doli also fathered a third egg from Eilonwy. They lived wonderful lives, though I still feel terrible that they were cut short due to my own error. Please make sure to backup your Creatures files whenever possible! I learned that lesson a little too late.

Life returned to normal in Albia once again, though there was no one to act completely silly and goofy. Gurgi decided to take it upon himself to start up a little romance with the oldest Norn, Angharad. She was still as strong and smart as ever, which must have attracted the males to her! In the blink of an eye, she had an egg on the way. Gurgi was a little unsure of what had happened… He was so used to kisspopping and just moving on. He lingered for a time, watching Angharad as she slumbered.

Achren and Ellidyr, my two wonderful Grendels, had also made it to the new Albia successfully! They celebrated the occasion with a new egg of their own. Dallben napped nearby, fiercely clutching a honeypot. Though he held to it with conviction, he refused to eat much of anything. I hoped he would stay around for a little longer, though. After all, he was still pretty young! And going by my love of these Creatures, I fleetingly hoped none would ever die.

That teleporter had some more love to share after Achren and Ellidyr moved on! The youngest of the group, Henwen, had barely entered adulthood when she caught the eye of Gurgi. Apparently he wanted to start up a relationship with the youngest of the group, after being with the oldest. It worked! Henwen was rather frightened of the news, though I assured her that it was all for the best. Gurgi made sure she was in good spirits before he resumed his quest to take over Albia with his genetics. So far he was quite successful with this rather odd goal!

I decided to hatch an egg of my own! This is Kaw, the son of Ure and Ramsvika. He was tied to the omnipresent Gurgi, though: They were half brothers! His genetic mutations were very minor, and had actually been completely inherited. The only thing to note is that shivering will actually make him hot and cold at the same time. I made sure to choose a mixture of Norns with different backgrounds and different genetic profiles for this generation: Though there were a few with serious mutations, everyone had gotten on surprisingly well. I hoped that Kaw would be able to fit into the group and grow up to be as healthy and happy as many were!
