File rehosting in the CC

Ah yes, that old bugaboo of bugaboos. What are your thoughts, feelings, rants and whatnot about attitudes toward breed/object/etc/etc/etc hosting and rehosting in the CC? Do you like the idea of central repositories for downloads or are you offput by anything resembling them? What about a Fileplanet...

Re: Primavera Norns Missing File [C3/DS]

This has been kind of a running problem in the Creatures mod community DarkAuthor - many people over the years who have made breeds, agents, etc. for the game are hostile to having their work rehosted, so the default assumption in my experience is never to *publicly* rehost without explicit permissi...

Re: xan's creatures challenges

The project has produced its first casualties. What does 'complete' mean in this context, anyway? 'Satisfied with the way it looks and functions'? Because that may be a criteria I'll never meet. It's technically finished in terms of being a gauntlet to throw at creatures already. (Though I need to ...

Re: Colouring Pages?

Thanks, my spouse made it after realizing how appropriate it was to how I play this game.
You impatiently waiting for the next season too?

Yesss, I think I have ideas for that ... may have to wait to tomorrow as I have a couple of projects I want to get out the door today, but we'll see.

I don't run a blog, so the showcase for the horrible, horrible world I'm making for this challenge is on my site: http://armaina.com/xan/creatures/burn.html

Re: Suggestions and Ideas

Are there any plans to spruce up the link section? I came looking for an 88x31 icon or link banner or something for linking DiscoverAlbia from my site and was disappointed to find nothing graphical I could use at a quick study, and the overall link section doesn't seem to have any space for this kin...

Re: Wasteland Bugfix [C3DS]

As it turns out, what actually sidetracked me was polishing a specific part of the code, the room monitor I used to check the extent of the bug. Apparently I got as far as monitoring CAs on a per-room basis . I think I was working on a heatmap as well. Which is all well and good but not on topic. I ...

Re: Tracking methods?

I use the same method of time tracking I use for other work billed by the hour + by the item. Clock 'in' when I start working on something time-based, clock 'out' when I'm done. One-off items get their own entries. I collect and tally entries on the weekends, then start again Mondays with a fresh sl...
