Hey, this might not be the solution that you're looking for, but on the tools page on Mummy's Creatures there's a link to download "Genome Editor von Christian Janßen" which is a 3rd party genetics kit that might work better on your computer. It's got a different interface than the official one but once you get used to it I think it's a lot easier to get around and find specific genes. The one downside is that you can't inject an egg directly from the kit, so you have to either load it back up in the official kit to inject it, or use Chris Double's genome injector (under 'Programs', you might have to download the DLL under 'Troubleshooting' on the same page if it doesn't work.)
