Sneak Peek at a New World Concept
Written onMy recent inspiration for a new world concept has kept me quite busy these past few days! Finding agents that fit in with the theme has been challenging at times, but I managed to successfully put together a world filled with technological life. I decided to create a fairly short video with a tour of the main area of the world. I still have many details to work out and some elements may change, yet I hope this might spark some interest in a Creatures theme that doesn’t get as much attention! I simply adore all of the Garden Box patch plants and the abundance of natural agents: This is just one way to think outside of the box and, perhaps, inspire some to enjoy another side of Creatures!

Another metallic system of teleportation you might like to add in are the Offline Portals by Grendel Man:

They feel like a portal, so creatures who love portals will love them, and you can put them where ever you like in your world. (Can be used from level to level, or can be used as metaroom doors.)
Thanks for the suggestion, Malkin! I had seen these, but the world was getting a tad bit crowded. However, I still need to do some testing with the Interporter: If it doesn’t work out, then I’ll definitely be using these portals! I might be able to work them in at some point, too, but hopefully posting about them will also provide another option for players who want to create a world like this. Thank you again!
If you’re going to be using Gaius for this world, you might want to be wary of the Wasteland Glitch.
When two geats look at each other, they change all the room types to air. If you restrict them to Random’s Room, this is fine, as it’s all air anyway. However, if you’re planning on having that portal lead to an area that’s rather fertile, the glitch is going to put a damper on that.
Unfortunately, the only way to avoid it is to either raise only one geat or make all the geats invisible to each other. Neither of those options is very appealing if you want to keep a population going.
I’ve managed to catch up on your blog and I must admit that I am extremely excited with what you have done! However, with C3/DS I found I have more difficulty with adding a bunch of new things to it without errors. It’s still nice to see what you have done with this all :)
