Independence and Romance in the Land of Norns
Written onOrddu was one of the funniest Norns when it came to the learning computer! To make sure each concept sinks in, I always repeat a word until the baby can say it about four or five times. I tried this with Orddu… And she immediately said “stop!” Apparently, she wanted to press the buttons and work at her own pace. She was a wonderful little student, and I sat back and let her do everything her own way. Talk about a determined and independent Norn!
Nearby, Llyan was quietly playing with the spinning top. It wasn’t exactly a silent toy, but it did the trick! She was a rather shy Norn, and I often found her with an unhappy frown to furrow her brow. All she really needed was some entertainment and a little encouragement. Llyan attempted to satisfy her curiosity with a visit to the hot stove… She let out a sharp whimper and backed up quickly! It was a difficult lesson, yet she suddenly found the loud cries of the spinning top to be rather soothing.
On the opposite side of Albia, Kaw found his beloved Henwen again. He was the one who watched over her egg for her, and I had a feeling they had something planned. Sure enough, their love was sealed in an egg! This was the first time that Kaw would be a father, and I found it very poetic that he shared the special occasion with the Norn whom he had fallen in love with. Henwen could just watch her beloved smile from ear to ear. He certainly was happy!
The eldest, Angharad, was still followed by the males wherever she went! Gwydion had taken up his post as her personal guard, while Gurgi resembled an overzealous fan. There were several kisspops, which made me rather nervous: Angharad had no need to experience that discomfort in the twilight of her life! On another thought, this photo and the one above it shows the difference in coloring of Gurgi and a standard Forest Norn. His paleness is subtle, yet it at least shows that color differences have popped up in this population!
Orddu certainly seems set in her ways…
[Plus, it’s such a thrill reading your blog again!]
