Creating a Creatures 1 Breed: Part II
Written onAs promised, the second part of the most recent video tutorial is now available! While the first part focused on using the One Stop Sprite Workshop to import individual bitmap images to create a sprite file, the central element of this video is body data. There might be a little more humor sprinkled in here with some ridiculous antics… I hope it’s worth a laugh! I have some thoughts for additional tutorials, but most likely any new content will be based off of feedback. Make sure to leave a comment or ask a question if there is anything I can clarify! Remember that creating a breed is quite involved, but it’s certainly not impossible. If you’re curious about making new Creatures breeds, jump right in!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I know you wrote it years ago, but I’ve only now discovered it, and it really helped me out a lot. I’d figured out the sprite files without much difficulty, but I was finding the body data files seriously mystifying and intimidating. That nornpose program looks as if it should help a lot — off to see if I can download a copy. Thanks again! (And I’m enjoying the rest of the blog, too. I love that there are other people out there still playing around with Creatures 1.)
Thanks for your very kind words! I’m glad this helped out: It can be really frustrating trying to figure out the sprites and body data for Creatures 1. Even with a few excellent resources, I found that it took me forever to understand something. Great to know that this visual helped out! Good luck with everything, and feel free to ask any other questions! I’ll likely also be updating more frequently once the holidays are all over with. Hope to see you back soon!
And also a quick note that the think to NornPose just under the video should work… If not, please let me know so I can find another link!
