The Old Age Antics of a Fertile Norn
Both Ingelill and Nordis laid their eggs with no incident, and they waltzed off to rest and recover from their pregnancies. Meanwhile, Ranulf found Kari on the desert island. “Boop” apparently means extremely friendly and lucky! The poor little Purple Mountain Norn looked a little unhappy about her newest pregnancy. She needed a little time away from the fertile king of Albia. He always showed up when a female Norn was ready to kiss pop! It was like some sort of psychic power.
Kari decided to spend the majority of her pregnancy with her trusted Grendel pal, Halvor. He had grown up some, and seemed like a safe protector of the egg. He was starting to enjoy the desert island almost as much as Keir had! He was a tad bit more playful and social, though: Halvor was actually dancing around with the ball!
Life in Creatures 1 remained relatively calm and uneventful. Everyone was taking care of themselves, and the bacteria had taken a vacation. Funny that the cause of chaos was actually Ranulf! Kari had traveled back and forth between the mainland and the island a few times. On one return visit, Ranulf surprised her with a kiss pop upon landing ashore! In the blink of an eye, she had another egg on the way.
I helped Kari escape from Ranulf during her pregnancy. She needed a good bit of rest, especially in her elder life stage. She chose a nice spot to lay a shiny blue egg, and then she proceeded to rest quietly beside it. I was ready to take a nap, too! Male Norns often lose their fertility in old age, due to stress and aging. Ranulf seemed to be just the opposite, and the females needed to find some ways to live out their final hours in peace! However they could achieve that, they tried.

Everyone had the right idea when they spotted Ranulf coming their way! Nordis had aged prematurely at just over seven hours old, although she seemed to be a bit of a faster ager for every life stage. She also sported the odd bald spots, which I still think are due to some sprite editing I attempted. All of the Norns were now elders. As I mentioned, everyone had the right idea, but Ranulf managed to kiss pop with the one fertile female in the group!
At 11 hours and 55 minutes, Ingelill became pregnant. Eydis had been the oldest Norn, and lived to 11 hours and 56 minutes. I was beyond worried that Ingelill wouldn’t live long enough to lay this egg. Why, Ranulf, why?! I moved her slowly and gently to a quiet area of Albia, and began to bring her hoards of food and toys. With a little luck, she would have the strength and energy to bring one more egg into Albia. Still, I had a lovely time imagining the sadness if she were to pass away too soon.

The bald spots on the norns are a little bit distracting, but I am amused by them. I think it is a little indearing and can add to the charm! That’s not to say to keep them around, though. :P My goodness! Ranulf is a ladies man!
Good grief, I don’t think I’ve seen such a fertile C1 Norn before, and in old age of all times!
I literally lol’ed when I saw the picture with all the females yelling ‘run’. Fingers crossed Ingelill will survive her pregnancy.
Kittie: I’m hoping someone can point me in the right direction on how to fix those bald spots. I’m stumped! Ranulf has earned himself the platinum award for being the ladies’ man! What a crazy guy.
ArchDragon: Ranulf certainly picked an odd time to be fertile! At this point, I believe he’s fathered just as many, or even more, eggs than in his adulthood. I’ve been trying to keep the females away from him: He’s just too potent! Ha ha! Ingelill just has to hold on for a little bit… I hope she makes it through, too!
Ranulf is Albia’s Hugh Hefner, then?
Most definitely, Chip! He still holds the record for most children in my world, at 14. His two sons were close, with 11 for Ure and 10 for Inndyr. Their descendants are still roaming around at the present… We’ll see if the family tradition continues!
