Eating, Sleeping, and Egg Laying: A Norn’s Life
The new alpha couple got off to a wonderful start with the birth of their son, Amrin! He looked exactly like his father, Keersho, though that was no big surprise. The most I could hope for was a different tail from the alpha female, Ginda, and she seemed to be storing that gene away for a rainy day! Amrin enjoyed eating the mushrooms as soon as his eggshell disintegrated into the air. Or maybe he ate it… He was whisked off to another area of the Biodome, where he could grow up in safety away from the group. It would not be long before he would have some friends!
The second and final egg from the first litter revealed an adorable female, named Behri. She was destined to be exported, though I delayed to let her enjoy the apples and scenery. Amrin would grow up alone for the time being, and I hoped it would not be as long as the last generation! Dizor was an adult by the time his first brother, Keersho, came along. Behri enjoyed a little extra time in the world, which amounted to maybe a minute or so. From the perspective of a Norn, that was a decent time span! Or so I told myself. Off she went into the land of files, to join all of those who were exported before her.
Keersho took his time choosing the next female, and he finally settled on the youngest, Binnie. She only had a single egg, but the way these three lined up after the event was rather funny! Varel, with her sleeping disorder, was naturally asleep. Keersho was in awe of her strange behavior, and he soon settled down to nap next to her. Binnie tagged along, and after the exhausting activity of laying an egg, her eyelids quickly closed. The rest of the group had become much more violent, so this was a nice escape from all of the slapping. I think some of them even wanted to slap me!
As luck had it, Binnie’s only egg held a daughter who had inherited her appearance strictly from Keersho. The Zebra Norn head truly was gone! I actually missed it right away, as those gentle yellow curls gave the females such an interesting look. Corsia was a happy little Norn, though, and she had no idea what appearances actually were! She was after one thing, and that was food. Tucked away in the Norn Meso, she easily occupied her time with exploring and eating. The latter seemed much more important in her mind!
Zorvee was the next female to fall in love with Keersho. Her firstborn was a male named Darton: I thought he was a full brother to Amrin for a moment! Except in selective breeding projects, I usually prefer to have a very diverse population. The name tags help to keep different Norns separated, yet different breeds and pigments seem to add so much to a group of Norns! It was still interesting to see how this group had evolved throughout the generations. The initial Bengal and Zebra Norn genes were still very dominant, though the Hardman Norn head took over!
Luckily for Zorvee, her second egg revealed a very enthusiastic female named Ethera! She loved to walk around, and I had a tough time chasing her down for the move to the Norn Meso! It was easy to get along with Corsia: They both shared a passion for food, and everything began to disappear in no time. Thank goodness for the Garden Box! Though they had to be patient for new food to grow, I could leave them to their own devices, comforted by the fact that there would always be food on hand.
Shortly after these events, my world began to act rather strange. I could no longer type, which wouldn’t have bothered me, save for the fact that it was required to assign marks! I had been using the “kill hots” command very carefully to replace the Biodome lifts with elevines… And I may have gone overboard! After moving everyone to a new world and playing for some time, my game crashed before it could save. Fortunately, I still have all of the exported files! Two more Norns were born before the move, and they will be introduced in the next update. There are a few kinks to work out, but I’m almost positive that only a few unhatched eggs will need to be reproduced with the Genetics Kit. Hopefully things will run smoothly again!

Ah! This reminds me…
Actually, that thing with the ‘kill hots’ and the elevines happened to me as well.
I tried reopening the CAOS command line and typed a word in it (something like ‘okay’) and then I could type in the game again after closing the command line.
I don’t really know what happened but my world seems alright after that. Maybe if it happens again you could try that too.
Unfortunately, nothing I tried brought back the world. I also ended up losing a few unhatched eggs, though it wasn’t a total disaster! All is now back to normal, fortunately, and I was so happy when my world saved properly! I made a copy of the world previously, so we’re still in the Biodome, only without a couple of minor agents.
