Turning the Tide of Luck in Creatures Docking Station

The Creatures Docking Station saga last left off with several disappointments, including the fact that Levia’s four children would not inherit her unique pigment swap mutation. As I braced myself for the first of her eggs to hatch, I wondered if there would be any resemblance to Levia. Fortunately, Onlaga quieted some of my fears. To start off, she was a female and would remain in the world! She also had a Fallow Norn body, which could only have come from Levia.

Success: Another daughter for Levia! Although it was still a shame that her coloring would not resurface in future generations, it was good to have a direct link back to her. Pelix took to the Norn Meso very quickly, and decided that it was a good idea to bond with her twin sister. The Hardman Norn head was completely dominant at this point: Every Norn kept for the next generation had one! And if memory served me correctly, there had only been one Norn born without a Hardman Norn head. Then again, I had wished for any way to spice up the previously dominant Zebra Norn head.

With little surprise, a male emerged from the third of Levia’s four eggs. Quarim was exported, although I hoped to see some alpha males eventually have the Fallow Norn body. It’s one of the appearances that has a clear difference between males and females. Although pretty much every breed has that characteristic, it seemed a bit more prominent in the Fallow Norn. Quarim was actually quite nicely put together! He found himself engulfed in a strange blue orb, which promptly deposited him in a folder, where he would be frozen in time.

Luck had turned around, and a little female was completely shocked at her arrival into the world! Roesha stood absolutely mesmerized by the lift button. She actually used it, although it was all a little too much for her to take. The Norn Meso was teeming with life, yet Roesha preferred to have her feet firmly planted on solid ground. Those treetop huts aren’t for everyone! It was a happy moment for the Norns, for Levia would live on quite well through her daughters. The trick was for one of them to become an alpha female, though.

The adult Norns trudged on at the slowest pace I had ever encountered. Dizor and Ginda, the eldest children, were already adults! I was far from content with the number of Norns available to continue the generations. After another fifteen minutes of constant worrying, Simteo suddenly had an epiphany. Caeriv scuttled off to lay three eggs in seclusion, while Wynda and Carthial stayed near the alpha male. Fortunately, both of them were soon ready to lay their own eggs! I just wondered if Simteo had something against the more unique females… He preferred to only hang around the Bengal and Zebra Norn mixes.

The alpha couple finally had some success in passing along their genes! The first to hatch, Syera, was a very shy Norn: She tried to hide behind the lift button, but it was impossible to escape the exportation orb! Her two younger brothers, Tefingar and Untig, joined the other potential alpha males. Oddly enough, they all had the exact same appearance. Would there be one with a Zebra Norn head? This could be the first time that an alpha male looked the same from one generation to the next. Although it’s not something I planned on happening, the unpredictability of Norn genetics always makes for an interesting outcome. Perhaps the females would end up with a little more diversity. After all, there were give to hatch from Carthial and Wynda!
