Understanding the Creatures 1 Kits and Applets
Written onAfter spending over a year in a folder, my two Creatures 1 Norns from the tutorial world were brought back to life! I meant to post more about them and the different gameplay mechanics long ago, yet that idea clearly did not happen. Pictured here is Molly, the little baby Norn who grew up a bit during the filming of this lesson regarding the different kits and applets in Creatures 1. Although most players know about them, I figured it was worth going through them all briefly since each one has its specific uses. I would hate to play C1 without some of these kits, after all! Many an illness has been thwarted from some quick chemical graphing and illness alerts.
Eight kits and applets in all took up my time in this tutorial. Hopefully there is something new to learn for everyone! I tend to make these tutorials accessible to new Creatures players, since they still come along decades after the game was released. Feel free to share any tips of your own, or ask any questions regarding the kits and applets. They’re quite useful in many different situations! Enjoy watching!
Very helpful, thank you.
You’re very welcome! After making this video, I realized there are some kits I rarely use that could be a lot more useful. I enjoy the Creatures 2 applets, but the Creatures 1 applets still bring back a lot of memories… Especially back in the day when I had absolutely no idea what some of them were showing!
Finally caught up! *Is breathless*
The video was incredibly helpful, if only the UK had a rerelease of these games that devoured my childhood before technology marched on… I adore your blog, and await the next post with baited (when caught) breath.
Hurray! I know I write up a lot, so catching up sounds like it could certainly be a mental workout. Ha ha! I hope to have some new posts coming out within the next week: Life is just so busy at the moment! I almost wish I had spent more time with Creatures in my younger days. I still love playing now, but back then it seemed like I could play a game forever without having to worry about anything else. Then again, that still happens every now and again!
