A Rabbit Encounter with the Creatures 4 Norn Figurines
As my Creatures 4 Norn figurines began to explore villages that were a little more suited to their size, they stumbled across a wonderful little home inhabited by Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families. A curious family of rabbits decided to investigate the noise of new visitors outside, and they happily greeted these newcomers from Belgium! The Norns themselves were rather quiet, for I still had yet to give them proper names. While the twin rabbit babies were taken on an outing with their mother, the rest of the family invited the Norns to stop inside for a spell. The winter weather and long journey were more than enough to convince the trio! They climbed the cozy steps as the sun fought to bring a little warmth into the cold winter day.
Fortunately, there was a roaring fire to truly warm up the Norns’ hands and feet! The twins showed off their bravery and got as close to the flickering light as they could stand… It seemed like a subtle tribute to the Creatures 1 oven! Luckily, they had the sense not to touch the glowing logs. Three of the rabbits sat by and conversed about their village. Although this was a rather quiet and empty region, they were not the only inhabitants. The Norns perked up their ears, for their curiosity was endless! Unlike some of their ancestors, they were eager to explore every nook and cranny. The fire popped with a cheery vigor as the rabbits laughed with their new Norn friends: Such a cozy little place!
While the twins stayed mesmerized with the dancing firelight and the rabbits moved onto topics of a truly rabbit nature, one of the Norns became rather restless. She could hear some noises coming from behind her, while her nose perked up at the smells wafting in from the kitchen. Every Norn can be easily distracted by food, and these figurines were no exception! Just then, she found herself brought back into the conversation with a question about carrots. The topic set her tummy into a dangerous rumble… She simply had to find out what was creating those delicious smells! Quietly, she tip-toed towards the kitchen, sneaking away before anyone noticed her disappearance.
The mother rabbit had a kind laugh for the Norn when she appeared with a hungry gleam in her green eyes! There on the stove, a sumptuous blend of vegetables was cooking away. Carrots, potatoes, herbs, and a plump squash were practically overflowing: This was a feast fit for the best of Norns! With the surprise meal clearly out in the open, the Norn offered to help the kind rabbit with the final preparations. Of course, she didn’t disclose how she hoped to get an early taste! From the living room, she heard the twins battling over who could get closest to the fire. She shook her head: After all, she was supposed to be the mischievous one of the group!
The meal was laid out for the Norns. They put up a bit of a protest at eating alone, but the rabbits insisted that their guests should enjoy the best of their food stores. One of the twins decided to brave the squash: It looked rather interesting, although he was apprehensive about using the strange contraption laid out next to him. Everyone knew how Norns typically stuffed their mouths! One look from his companion, though, and he decided to give it a try. These rabbits had never encountered a Norn before… Although the Norns wondered what in the world rabbits were doing cooking and building fires. It was beside the point: The carrots and potatoes brought back memories of the tales of Albia, while the squash nearly broke the fork!
With their bodies warm and filled with food, the Norn trio headed off to see what else they could discover. The rabbits bid them a very fond farewell, and invited the Norns back whenever they were nearby. The twins had a slightly redder tinge, thanks to their antics with the fire! I was left with the task of giving names to the Norn figurines, for it appeared that they might have some more adventures in the future. Would there be anything more to discover in this village? Or would the Norns head off to discover more? And who in the world were these tiny rabbits? Feel free to comment if you would like to see more of these Norn figurines: They may not be the focal point, but they could certainly be featured every now and then with more Calico Critters/Sylvanian Families!

i can’t help but think that the orange one looks like its plotting to murder the rabbits and pin the blame on the twin norns xD he looks so shifty
This would probably go over better if the norn figurines were poseable.
At any rate, this was an amusing read. Now I’m tempted to do something like this myself with some creaturedolls. Despite being a guy.
Magpie-Angel: The shifty one is the female of the group… At least in my eyes! She’s more cute and crafty, though. No violence for these Norns!
Grendel Man: Poseable is a whole lot better in my book! The rabbits are part of a collection that feature poseable heads, arms, and legs. Just seeing if anyone knows what they are before I reveal the brand! I’m glad you enjoyed this! Definitely go for creating something like this yourself: I found it pretty fun to do, and it takes some time to get everything looking decent in each shot. That also reminds me that I keep forgetting about my Norn doll. Old school must meet the new figurines soon enough!
Oh, gosh. Your rabbit family is the exact series of little animal figures I’ve been searching for for ages — childhood toys gone missing, etc. Would you happen to know the company/brand which manufactures them? Such a happy accident!
Might as well spill the beans! Depending on where you live, they will be known either as Sylvanian Families or Calico Critters. I have a whole bunch of these that I just started collecting: They’re still out there, and are absolutely precious! It was a funny accident when I found out that these Norn figurines were just about the right size to have some photo opportunities with them! I’ll certainly be featuring the rest of the village residents eventually! Hopefully this helps you out and you can get your hands on these little ones again!
I wish the female really was plotting on burning down the house with the rabbits inside and pin the blame on the twins :( Oh well, this is kyoot and a lot! I can’t decide if I like more the Norn figurines or the rabbits. Do you know if there are any other variations apart from the two you have? -Puddini.
Goodness! Seems like we might need a Creatures police force with all this talk! Ha ha! There are many, many different varieties of Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters. I’ll keep my collection quiet for the time being so that it will still be a surprise when they show up. Off the top of my head, I know there are rabbits, cats, dogs, hedgehogs, mice, bears, pigs, cows, squirrels, deer, and elephants. Many of the more popular species, such as the rabbits and cats, have multiple families available. Then there are the furniture and buildings… Definitely a lot to love!
Oh how adorable! I love the little story! The rabbits are amazing, i’ve never seen them before myself. It kind of makes me want some too haha. :D
BTW, by variations I meant the Norns. -Puddini.
I do have to say that I find the fells much more pleasing to the eyes than the female. Now if she were crosseyed on the other hand…
(Derpy Norn for the Win! :D)
I am also tossing my support behind this series of Real Life tales!
Kittie: Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed it! The rabbits are simply adorable, though I have a hard time finding any of the families that aren’t cute. That makes it all the more difficult to find a reason not to add to the collection. Ha ha!
Puddini: Sorry about that! There are actually two variations of the rabbits, which is why I thought you were referring to them. As far as I know, these are the only two C4 Norn figurines that Fishing Cactus has mentioned. The one with green eyes seems to rather rare, as I haven’t seen anyone else with this particular Norn figurine. Perhaps we’ll find out more when the game is released!
Celine: The female’s eyes are a little crosseyed… Almost looks like she’s looking in two directions at once! Maybe that’s where this whole evil vibe is coming from. Ha! There might need to be a spinoff series featuring the Sylvanian Families/Calico Critters once the Norns have headed off to explore some more. We shall see! Thank you for the support!
Okay… reading this post & the comments on it is giving me the urge to try to make a custom posable norn figurine. I’ve modified & repaired quite a few posable toys, so I think I know how to make one from scratch. It won’t be easy, but I think I could do it. But when would I find the time….
Is it weird that I, a seventeen year old male from England, now want to purchase some dolls and do exactly this for hours?
Not at all, Chip! I’m a firm believer in using the imagination every now and then. I believe that adults are expected to be so serious and boring (in some aspects) and leave behind the silly playtime we had as children. Nothing wrong with spending a day every so often letting your imagination have some fun! And these little figures are really very cute and just lend themselves to stories. You could always do what I do: Label it as a “collection” that you have for display purposes only. Only you’ll know the real secret… They’re not on display all the time!
