Norn Jealosy and a Serious Case of Dislike
Written onA little jealousy started to bubble to the surface! Topin found himself surrounded by Davira and Kiarya, both of whom he was fond of. He seemed pleased with how much they both liked him, and Davira even proclaimed her love for the alpha male! Perhaps it was his kind nature that helped make it easy to enjoy his company. I had yet to worry about a violent or overly mean alpha male, which was quite a relief. Violent Norns were not my favorites.
Kiarya was a little ornery during her pregnancy: With four eggs on the way, her discomfort had to be terrible! Davira was used to the verbal abuse, though, since all of the females had plainly showed their dislike for her numerous times. She showed them, though! And to show up Kiarya, Davira would soon have two more eggs of her own to show Topin. Take that, jealous rival!
The egg queue threatened to get out of hand from Kiarya’s and Davira’s combined six eggs, so I quickly jumped over to the communications room to hatch Inlex’s two eggs. Out of the first emerged a spitting image of Topin. This is Caeriv, who was whisked off to the lush and vibrant Norn Meso where she would grow up. It made a huge difference going from a cold, dark, and lonely room to one where there was everything imaginable and all sorts of food! Like many before her, Caeriv enjoyed the move.
A few minutes later, and a little male popped out of his shell and blinked against the blinding light. Divar was immediately exported, although I wished he could have remained. An announcement regarding CreatureLink is coming over the next day or so, and Divar will eventually be made available for adoption. Hopefully he could escape from his temporary storage shortly! He reminded me very much of his mother. Who wouldn’t love all those stripes and his bright yellow hair?
It was pandemonium back in Veridia! Topin decided that he was in love with Davira, but he seemed to be the only one. The beutiful Leyfin made her move and had her own set of twins on the way, yet she wasn’t afraid to tell Davira just what she thought of her! Apparently second chances don’t exist in the world of Creatures and Norns. And rivalries run very, very deep without ever being forgotten!
The time was about right to start hatching Kiarya’s eggs, when a show stopping alert popped up: A death. Athik passed away while playing with his ball: He collapsed as it was still bouncing around. I found no toxins, no bacteria, nor any high drives. I only checked on him minutes before, when he was munching on an apple. Athik’s mysterious death baffled me, for I couldn’t locate any mutations that would have caused such an early demise. It was a depressing way to leave the game: Rest in peace, Athik. Sleep well.
Ouch. Sudden Norn Death Syndrom… It’s starting to be a pattern. Maybe one of the Alphas passed on a flaw somewhere?
