The Traveling Life in Albia

It took Arik very little time to find the cable car after he grew up! I spent a good deal of time with Signe at the learning computer, and had to ensure that she was not in pain. Her genetics still fascinate me, since she received some of the most interesting mutations right out of the hatchery. With her settled in, I had some time to focus on the lone male Norn. Arik nearly followed in the footsteps of Eydis, but the blasted cable car struck again! Arik barely made it halfway across before he decided that he wanted to head back towards the east of Albia. My goal had been to introduce the two older Norns so that they could form some type of relationship during their childhood. Alas, Arik had other plans! Still, it was another good sign that he wanted to explore on his own. Perhaps he was in search of the perfect place to call his own.

Keir also decided to put on his proverbial traveling shoes! Although Creatures 1 does not support different seasons, I like to think that Norns and Grendels experience a little piece of summer when they visit the desert island. Keir was in search of food, though, and had no desire to lay out in the sun. The radio was of no interest to him, either, and I settled on the conclusion that he wanted food and a friend. Eydis had her opportunity to meet Keir when he inadvertently saved her, yet this little Grendel was living the lonely life. I had my hands full with three Norns, including Signe. After I dropped off some carrots for Keir, I bid him farewell for the time being. I envied his time at the beach, though!

The first encounter between Norns happened in the safety of the garden. Arik returned from his uneventful encounter with the cable car to spot a tiny Norn nestled among the carrots. Signe sent an enormous grin my way before focusing her attention on the strange newcomer. I expected it would only be a matter of time before she grew angry and in physical pain by his presence. In those first few brief moments, though, Arik and Signe formed a delicate bond. It was a lovely, touching moment in Creatures 1.

I was surprised that Eydis had pretty much settled down near the beehives: She had all the makings of a Norn beekeeper, save for the fact that she never stopped getting stung! All the same, she was amazed by the paradise she had discovered. Neverending source of honey? Check. Loud jukebox with repeat function? Check. There were two lifts ready to take her anywhere, yet it looked like she wanted to stay forever. Even a lone can of hootch remained untouched. Maybe this is an ideal spot to raise young Norns in Albia… Provided they can survive the cable car, that is!
