Fitting the Pieces of Albia Together

The Perfect Spot to Lay a Perfectly Matched Creatures EggSometimes the coincidences and luck in Creatures 1 create some interesting moments! I last left Candidum on the underground cart, where Bolanderi was trying to lead her to a special egg laying place. Being the independent one that she is, Candidum humored him by following along just long enough until she could sneak back onto the cart alone. Apparently she had her perfect spot picked out long ago, and what luck! Among the empty cans of hootch, which she had downed at record breaking speeds, Candidum laid a perfectly matched egg. She was quite proud of herself, and smiled at me as she showed off her very first egg. Congratulations!

Jucunda the Grendel and a Solitary LifestyleWhile practically everyone was off socializing and forming small groups, someone was completely left out of the action. Jucunda tried in vain to find anyone, but gave up on the island. Little did she know that there was a pretty lively group just one floor above her! The poor Grendel kept shivering, yet she just laid still like she was in a state of deep sadness. I abandoned everyone else so I could give her some food and cheer her up. It seemed like she was the only one who hadn’t yet found her place in the world. Even Pentlandii, my other Grendel, made friends with several Norns and fit right in. Jucunda just needed more time.

Iridollae the Irate and a Sudden TransformationOn the subject of not fitting in, Iridollae the Irate was still wreaking havoc around the incubator! I sent her away so young Martagon, the Santa Norn, could finish his lessons. When I returned, things looked quite different. Ledebourii managed to meet up with both Martagon and Iridollae near the learning machine. To my utter amazement, she was beaming with an enormous smile! Iridollae rarely ever smiled, and was just generally upset and grumpy. No one could replace Hansonii, yet apparently two Norns put together came close to reminding her of him!

Summertime Love Under an Albian UmbrellaWhat had become of Hansonii? He was on the island, all grown up and falling in love with Auratum. She looked like she planted a little kiss on his forehead while he stood smiling… And apparently detaching from his feet? Body data issues, yet again! They looked like they were enjoying a summer getaway, yet they were sensible enough to seek some shelter under the umbrella. I heard at least one kisspop, but the timing wasn’t quite right to add a new baby into the mix. That’s one thing that makes Creatures 1 Norns and Grendels seem more precious: Pregnancies aren’t guaranteed to happen, and usually don’t happen too often. There are exceptions, though, like my first generation Norn named Ranulf who fathered 14 babies. Here’s to hoping these two adorable Norns start their own family without going overboard!
