Hatch, Name, Sort, and Repeat: The Tip of the Egg Iceberg

Before I started the hatch the massive hoard of eggs in Creatures Docking Station, I reminded myself to introduce this generation’s new and unrelated female. This is Leyfin, a beautiful Fallow Norn! I hatch a first generation female Norn with each generation for two main reasons. First, to keep a diverse base of appearances and genes; and second, to offer a little genetic stability. Mutations always happen, but I prefer to keep them from running absolutely rampant! Leyfin was given a blue flower as her mark: What a pretty image to follow around a pretty little Norn!

Bashil looked miserable after she delivered four eggs in rapid succession. She was almost glad to be exported into a very quiet folder! As backed up as I was with eggs, imagine who ended up pregnant… Chiare! Fawkix couldn’t ignore her for too long, and I was thrilled that she had been accepted into the group. I had to look over the indicator icons once more, though, for it suddenly looked like Chiare had decided to turn her twins into quadruplets. Actually, Zeera went ahead and was pregnant. So many eggs! These ladies clearly planned synchronized pregnancies.

The egg queue started to go down with the first of Tentha and Fawkix’s children: A daughter named Santia! She looked almost exactly like her mother, aside from her locks of golden curls. She seemed to be very well put together, though, with a very cheerful look. I wanted to spend a little time with her, but there were so many other eggs to hatch! My hands off approach to raising these Norns has been quickly failing… It’s difficult to resist not scratching those little heads, or offering a little food. At least I haven’t failed miserably… Yet!

No time to contemplate these issues, though! After a little struggle with her eggshell, Santia’s sister popped out with blinking eyes. Meet Kiarya! I thought her mother, Tentha, had somehow managed to go back in time, for this little one was identical to her mother. At least those Harlequin Norn legs will continue to passed down. The world is already heavily populated with Siamese and Zebra body parts. Kiarya settled into the Norn Meso, yet I had only scratched the surface. I had eight more eggs to hatch… Slow down, Fawkix! I hoped he would kisspop with Naeda, the alpha female, again soon, though.
