Important Missions and Operations in Creatures 1
Written onAlbia was in a state of impressive peace, save for one Norn. Melyngar became unable and unwilling to eat, which brought her life force down to a dangerous level of about 30%. Her body was able to sustain her for several hours, yet it was her mind I was most concerned about. Orddu visited with Melyngar when she could, and the two would enjoy quiet voyages across the sea. She was not completely alone, for Melyngar had an iron grip on the ball. She didn’t do much more than tow it around with her, but I hoped it was enough to give her something to calm her mind. Her hunger was probably incessant and excessive, yet no one could help her find a way to eat just one carrot. I feared for the worst for poor Melyngar.
It was about time for a good laugh, and Llyan provided the perfect opportunity! Luckily, she laid her egg with no troubles. Orgoch was rather proud of her purple spotted treasure, and she showed it off to Llyan with a little too much pride. When Orgoch turned around, I thought Llyan’s expression was simply priceless. She had heard enough about this egg! Despite their one-sided conversation, Llyan and Orgoch had gone through their recent pregnancies around the same time. At least there was some common ground! Both of them were rather advanced in age, which brought about the unpalatable thought of the end. If it came too soon, at least these two Norns would not be alone.
I popped back into the garden to gather a couple of carrots. Apparently there was a secret operation in effect… Operation Blend In! Arianllyn tried to stay perfectly still with one of the carrots. She actually did a pretty good job, but any Grendel lover knows just how to spot one of them! She still had yet to meet Adaon, who had never ventured outside of his music room. He was a happy little one, though, and I figured he would have enough time to explore the rest of Albia. Or maybe Arianllyn would discover him on her own!
With both of the newest eggs accounted for, I realized that the two remaining male Norns had disappeared! Surprisingly, I found them together in the settlement… Rhun took a much needed nap, while Taran laid down to exhibit his telltale shivering mutation. At least this meant a break from egg gathering for a time! Both boys were modestly happy. There was a chance that they might find their way to Adaon. I convinced myself that Taran was on just such a mission. His excitement over a honeypot seemed to indicate otherwise!
