Antsy to Restart a Creatures 2 World

A short time ago, I started a new Creatures 2 world that was to be inhabited by the Albian Ant Norns. My first attempt went over quite poorly, purely due to my own mistakes. Months later, I decided it was time to give this world another chance! I spent a good deal of time setting up a brand new world. With the help of C-Rex’s C2 Must Haves, I was well on my way to creating a world that could support a colony of these Norns! My biggest mistake the first time around was assuming that the males would stick right by the females… This is still an enormous world, yet I hope a few modifications will ensure that this population doesn’t die out like my originals.

I plan on having not a single group, but four. Seems a little much? These groups will range in size from three to five individuals, which I expect will keep the population from exploding too quickly while still ensuring that no one dies out. The interesting part will be finding out what group does the best: Will it be the smallest group, the largest, or will the number of starting individuals not matter? Most of the groups will also start out in decent range of one another. One group will be almost completely isolated, although anyone brave enough to take a long journey could still meet them!

Perhaps the biggest question at this point is to decide on the names of my Albian Ant Norns. A big part of me wants to simply do away with names, for the simple reason that this breed of Norn is very short-lived. In particular, the males have very short lifespans. Does it make sense to constantly come up with new names? Or might it seem more realistic to leave the ant colony unnamed? Or perhaps this world will be much more like a chronicled nature experiment, with the subjects receiving cataloged names like A01 and B25.

It might sound as though I don’t plan on getting attached to these Norns, but it’s like a disease for me: There’s no way to escape it! I look forward to seeing how each group works. Perhaps some will die off, yet I have confidence that this world will last longer than before and make documenting Creatures 2 more exciting. This is the one game I haven’t played that much, thanks to its notorious glitches. Time to give it a shot, particularly since the visuals and music bring back memories. Albian Ant Norns: Scheduled to invade Discover Albia very soon!
