The Breakup of the Albian Ball Brigade

Continued Adventures of Norns, Grendels, and ToysBrekennion learned at a young age just how to have some fun with the Creatures 1 Grendels! However, it was quite clear that there was some sort of trickery going on with these toys. Everyone was amazed with the bouncing balls when I last checked in, and now Dahloi and Nildeleer were more obsessed than ever! It turned out that the ball in the lift was the better trick than the ball in the teleporter… Dahloi moved on!

Deep in Thought in AlbiaStill in the garden, Hleengar felt slighted for being abandoned for more interesting fun around Albia. I didn’t capture him in mid-step, either: He simply stood like this for a bit, blinking back the tears of rejection. Actually, he was a lot more concerned with how to bounce the ball… Dahloi had done all the work, and now Hleengar was perplexed about how to actually play! In his mind, the best thing to do was to hold onto that ball like it was a part of him. The trouble with that plan was that it was the exact opposite way of how to bounce it! What a silly young Norn.

An Attempt to Stop Playing with the GrendelsAfter going on for at least ten minutes, which was a good chunk of a Norn’s lifetime, Brekennion decided that the ball brigade needed a break! He put his foot down, although he couldn’t resist sending the beloved toy on a few more bounces before giving it up. Dahloi and Nildeleer were bewildered by their friend’s sudden change of heart, yet they carried it along just in case he changed his mind! After all, he made it only a few steps before looking back and wondering if he would regret his decision.

A Joyful Norn in Creatures 1This was the picture of a perfectly happy Norn. Hleengar decided that he enjoyed carrying the ball and nursing it back to health much more than putting it through so much abuse! I was about to find out that the real abuse was happening inside… As much as Hleengar looked like a happy Norn, things were not as they seemed. A concoction of nasty contagions settled in him like a blizzard, and started spreading their dark talons. He had only just entered the world, and there was nothing he could do to hold back the toxins. Could Hleengar pull through, or would my Creatures 1 world suffer? There was only one thing to do: Leave a cliffhanger until the next post!
