Norn Mothers of Every Age

The Perfect Egg Laying Spot in Creatures 1It wasn’t long before my Creatures 1 world found itself with one more egg! Zelroo had a relatively simple pregnancy after experiencing the death of a friend. She was considerate enough to lay her bright egg right near the incubator! She even brought a honeypot along for the experience. Good thinking, Zelroo! This first experience at being a mother-to-be was a positive one for her, despite a few moments when she completely forgot how to eat. It was a shame that there were no other real maternal instincts that Norns possessed. Maybe that was all for the best, considering how I separate the generations.

Proof of Norn Youth in Old AgeSome Norns just don’t know how to pick the right time for an egg. Take Hybralvao, for example. Although she laid her egg with minimal issues, she was nearly twelve hours old when Thrennion appeared! I was actually very surprised about this pregnancy, since Hybralvao’s last egg came right around the time of Hleengar’s passing. She also developed an odd obsession with talking about dropping everything. “Hybralvao drop Jessica” and “Hybralvao drop ticker” became her new favorite phrases! Talk about going senile!

Traveling to the Creatures Island for a Strange MeetingAll of the responsibilities made Zelroo feel like she was in need of a vacation. I at least managed to get her to eat a couple of carrots along the way, since she seemed to think she was too good for food. No, Zelroo, that won’t keep you alive for too long! She met up with Pfeffablel when she arrived. The island inhabitant wasn’t too thrilled about a newcomer to her part of the beach. So while Zelroo leaned in to offer a friendly greeting, Pfeffablel slapped the young Norn. From her pose, it looked more like a drop kick! I couldn’t exactly yell at Pfeffablel for her sudden violent outburst. After all, she was usually very easy to get along with. All the same, poor Zelroo!

Two Norns and the Race to the TopOnly two males remained in this fifth generation: Preetar and Thrennion. Seeing them up close reminded me that they were actually half-brothers, which should have been obvious to me long ago! Their first meeting was amicable enough, although I could sense a rivalry starting up between the two of them. They both raced for the morning glory herb, although it was Thrennion who beat out his older sibling! They still seemed decently friendly towards one another, and I hoped they could get along in Albia!
