A Spike in the Demand for Albian Carrots

Mayth was a wonderful Norn who had already made Athahain feel welcome, yet he had more ideas! He caught up with Athahain again on the desert island, and they decided that it was time to build upon their stock of eggs. There was even a carrot nearby for Athahain to grab and show just how a pregnant Norn was supposed to eat! Eating for two does have noticeable effect in Creatures 1, particularly since it takes a decent amount of time for an egg to grow enough before being laid. Athahain made my job easier by being an independent lady!

Brekennion made his way back to the island after taking a fateful cart ride with Dahloi. The time away did wonders for him! One quick way to check a male Norn’s health is to gauge his testosterone production: It acts as a sort of longterm graph of accumulated stress. He was back to his normal self, especially since he and Losthrayte were soon expecting another egg together! Unfortunately for Brekennion, he was suddenly surrounded by two pregnant female Norns who wanted attention!

Dahloi was overjoyed when he met up with Nildeleer again, yet he decided that it was time for him to head back off on his own. I was a little sad to see him go off on his own, until I discovered the little surprise he left with his beloved… Nildeleer was carrying their second egg! Apparently the pair only needed to see one another every now and then to keep the next generation of baby Grendels on a healthy path. Judging by their pasts, I assumed Nildeleer was going to miss Dahloi before he even thought of her. Yet if they could meet up one time, there was a lot of hope for their future together!

With three new pregnancies, the only Norn who really felt left out of it all was Hybralvao. She had been a very popular female, with four eggs already to her name. Sensing the need for extra food production, she crouched down in the garden to try her hand at becoming a famous carrot gardener. Hybralvao wasn’t aware that Norns technically couldn’t plant carrot seedlings, yet she did her best to simulate the act! I only had to keep an eye on her to make sure that she didn’t eat all of the carrots. Hopefully she wasn’t planning on being too greedy! Then again, it was difficult to resist those delicious tidbits in the Albian garden…
