Endless Silliness with Norns and Grendels
Written onMost of the inhabitants of my Creatures 1 world had jumped back into action since the game was reinstalled and fixed, yet I hadn’t spent any time with my Grendels. Dahloi was rather surprised to find that Nildeleer found her way back to the island! He was in the midst of playing with the ball, when he noticed that familiar glint in Nildeleer’s eyes. He backed away slowly, nearly tumbling over a pot of honey! It was all fun and games for them, though.
Krathlaysi gave me no end of strange behavior in her past, like dropping a honeypot in the ocean for no particular reason. I found her all alone in a rather lonely corner of Albia, and my heart went out to her. Only I had to stop myself and giggle because it looked like she was determined to fill that honeypot with hootch from the still! She put it down… Nothing. So she picked it up and crouched down, apparently convinced that this would work. Silly Krathlaysi! She may have been alone, but she was far from unhappy! It looked like she would always have some very strange ideas about what to do with honeypots.
My Santa Norn, Hleengar, was well past his appropriate season, and he decided to roll along into spring with all of his holiday cheer! Young Pathun became a close friend to him, but that Santa Norn had a little joke up his sleeve. He tried to convince Pathun that he could travel down the wishing well, if only he would stand in place for a time. I watched this behavior for a little bit, and Hleengar turned to me as if to stifle his laughter! Luckily the well was just for decoration, and Pathun was in no danger of falling down and requiring a daring rescue. Perhaps Hleengar wanted to test this out as a pseudo-chimney, for use next Christmas. At least those two boys were in good spirits, even if one had a little devious smile on his face!
The youngest Norn in the world, Pfeffablel, was born quite awhile ago, and she was a very healthy adult already. Actually, I looked a little closer and found out that she was well over two hours old! This fifth generation of Norns still has a few Norns to add to their ranks, and Pfeffablel ran in the direction of the incubator, clearly trying to tell me something important! I actually had been planning on hatching the next Norn at the time when my game stopped working. This delay had gone on quite long enough! Who will we meet next? The birth of any Norn or Grendel is a cause for celebration, but this birth will carry with it an extra special element: It will mark the 600th post at Discover Albia! Not a major milestone, but certainly one to make a note of!
