A Pair of Late Surprises in Creatures Docking Station

Gontor and Iollis were more than preoccupied with eating, and I figured that their brood had reached its maximum. There were only four males, but I was still relatively happy with the number. Little did I know that Iollis had a little surprise in store for me… Two, actually! She positively glowed as she waited to lay her eggs. At least this time around had resulted in a nice break for her… Norns in Creatures Docking Station often breed at an alarming rate, and Iollis deserved a very long break after bearing more than enough children already. Perhaps these eggs would hatch into males, and make the alpha male succession test all the more interesting.

Sure enough, out popped a little male named Jevin! He clearly took after his mother in terms of appearance. After being dropped off in the strange learning room, he lost his bearings for a little bit. Most of the males immediately made a run for the door, but Jevin stayed behind a little longer. It gave him a slightly more refined vocabulary, although the others enjoyed using the Blue Intelligence Core for an even better learning experience. In any case, Jevin joined his older brothers and abundant food sources! He was lucky to enter such a vibrant world.

To my delight, the second egg revealed another male! I named him Tegidor, and he was the sixth male. I thought that Iollis had been lucky enough to deliver identical twins this time around, until I noticed the very slight different between Tegidor and Jevin. They resembled a few of their other brothers, and I still can not thank Amaikokonut enough for the Creature Nametags! This little fellow was much more adept at making it out of the learning room. He overtook Jevin at one point! It was just a matter of waiting for these newest males to grow up before the next alpha couple determination would take place.

With such a large age difference between the oldest and youngest males, I decided that Gontor and Iollis could retire. I exported them, along with their five daughters. All will be added to CreatureLink this week, so no one will have to rot away in an unused folder. The alpha male and female had grown very attached to one another, even if their favorite pastime turned out to be stuffing their faces together! Of the eight females of the next generation, half had already made it to the youth or adult life stages. The time had come to wait for Jevin and Tegidor to mature. Then, the next alpha couple would take their spot and enjoy a change of scenery!
