The Counterattack of an Albian Antibody

Two Norns Resting Comfortably in the JungleThere was a bout of sleep toxin seeping into my Creatures 1 world, yet the two sleeping Norns I stumbled across were actually quite healthy. Preetar and Krathlaysi laid down for a nap together… Though they weren’t exactly close! They were getting as much sleep as possible after they found out they were expecting an egg. Congratulations! I did notice how Preetar was still slapping a lot, though. Perhaps this new role would bring out his nice side!

An Albian Beekeeper without Any SkillsBefore I raced back to Losthrayte, I saw Pathun having a very unusual problem. He appeared to be very interested in taking care of the bees, only he was going about it all the wrong way! I watched him get stung over and over again, yet he still continued to try to catch the bees. Pathun actually reminded me of the way that Eydis loved the bees a long, long time ago. She, too, suffered from the same incessant stinging. Interestingly enough, I couldn’t trace a path back to her in Pathun’s lineage. They were unrelated, yet they had so much in common! At least Pathun had good intentions in mind, and plenty of honey.

A Successful Immune System CounterattackFinally, I pounced back into action with my very ill Losthrayte. There was a rather stern lesson in the fundamentals of eating. It might have been somewhat harsh, yet I wasn’t about to lose her in the same way as Hleengar. Luckily, I caught her in time to turn the tide of the illness. Carrot after carrot appeared for Losthrayte to consume, and consume she did! At one point she fell asleep from the sleep toxin, yet her full stomach meant that it was a safe way to recover. All the same, I stayed with her for a very long time as her antibody level slowly rose. Antigen 2 put up another long fight, but Losthrayte emerged as the winner! She sent that infection packing, hopefully for good. I only hoped that this was the end of my bad luck in Albia: Three different illnesses, three sick Norns, and one death.

A Norn and Her Trusty Carrot FriendWhen at last she was feeling better, Losthrayte shared a modest smile to mark the occasion! She even posed with her trusty carrot, which was the reason for her survival. I still kept her away from everyone for a short time, just to be on the safe side. A recovering Norn can still be contagious, as illustrated by the above graphic. All three of the illnesses I was faced with could have spelled disaster for my Norns and Grendels. It was actually just about a year ago that my world was hit with a fatal illness. Losthrayte was fortunate to have returned to her senses in time to let her immune system fight back. She moved on from her quarantine, stronger and healthier than ever before.

Waving Farewell to a Little Bald NornAs was so often the case, there was a sad ending to Losthrayte’s tale of survival. Just as I was checking up on everyone in the world, I received an indication of a death. Perplexed and worried, I discovered the lifeless body of Mayth in the garden. He had entered old age at a very premature age, yet his death at 6 hours and 42 minutes old was exceptionally young. It was indeed a natural death from old age, but I was still heartbroken. Mayth left behind three unhatched eggs, but his presence would be missed. Farewell, my little bald Norn.

A Sudden Fit of Norn SlappingMore trouble was brewing on the desert island between Pfeffablel and Hybralvao. The latter sported new gray hair, which did not sit very well with her! I also wondered if she somehow sensed the deaths of Hleengar and Mayth, since both had expected eggs with her. Pfeffablel was just appalled at the rude treatment she was suddenly given. It might even have been a simple feud over the honeypot. This generation of Norns was actually nearing its end, as much as I hated to think of it. Yet there were two members of the population whom I had neglected for a short time, and those were my Grendels!
