A Surprising Baby Norn and Endless Silliness

Introducing Nanum the Fairly Rare Cheri NornWho in the world could this be? I hatched a brand new Norn into the world. Meet Nanum! She probably looks totally unfamiliar and strange since she comes from the latest Creatures 1 breed. Created in 2013, the Cheri Norns may not be brand new, yet I never had a chance to play with this breed. Nello did an amazing job of creating this breed, which features very unique appearances for the males and females! This breed usually occupies Norn breed slot 9, but I installed them under slot 8 since I have the Grorns installed. It’s a shame that there are so few Norn breed slots in Creatures 1, yet things still work out!

A Norn and Her Assortment of Trusty InstrumentsNanum’s time with the learning machine was briefly interrupted by some incessant banging emanating from the music room. The culprit? Candidum! After laying her egg, it was time for her to recuperate from her pregnancy with a little alone time. All of the instruments were just begging to be used after sitting around and collecting dust. Candidum was only too glad to make as much of a racket as she could! The way Norns and Grendels move when they hit the drum is about the funniest thing. Never seen it before? Try leading someone to the music room and see what happens. It looks like a Norn or Grendel throws everything into making music… Or just noise.

The Utter Amazement Over a Repeat of the Deathcap IncidentMy eldest Grendel, Jucunda, grew into an adult and practically towered over her former size. What a growth spurt! She caught up with Auratum, who was back to exploring the world again. As I watched the Observation Kit, Auratum’s life force started to dip rather sharply. Need I remind anyone of the recent deathcap adventure? Apparently Auratum wanted to copy what she saw awhile ago, and tested out that vile weed for herself, possibly because I hadn’t refilled the honeypot. Jucunda just looked at me in disbelief. She was smart enough not to eat it, and it baffled her why she was hanging out with such a silly Norn! A few carrots and a ride in the life later, and the crisis was averted.

A Tiny Cheri Norn Fitting Into Albian SocietyBack in the land of the incubator, Nanum was playing and learning about everything around her. She actually got thrown into the mix with Iridollae, Ledebourii, and Martagon for a short time before I rescued her. She was not a happy camper! Way too much excitement for such a young one. It was still a little early to tell what her personality would be like, although I got the feeling that she was a little more on the quiet side. She spent a lot of time with the learning machine, which reminded me of baby Jucunda. That Grendel still wasn’t very social… Probably because she hadn’t found another intellectual! Nanum looked like she might fit that requirement. At the very least, she was just so cute!

A Rather Guilty but Joyful C1 NornBolanderi was turning into some sort of magician. He kept showing up at the right time and place, only to disappear a moment later! I last saw him traveling back and forth on the underground cart. When he saw me coming, he attempted to hide. Why? That guy had his third egg on the way, courtesy of Iridollae! Apparently she had given up on looking for Hansonii, and the Santa Norn was a pretty good replacement. Jucunda was even around for the happy news, though she stayed in the background and could only contemplate what was going through Bolanderi’s mind. If he was aiming to have the most children, he was well on his way! Iridollae the Irate became Iridollae the Impending Mother.

Santa Norn Meets an Elf NornTime has just been flying by in this world! Martagon, who had only recently hatched, became an adult in the blink of an eye. Actually, he seemed to have the same faster pace to aging as Candidum did, for he was only about 40 minutes old when this happened. Now I would have to look carefully to tell him apart from his half-brother, Bolanderi! Martagon decided to prance around the kitchen, when he stopped short from sheer amazement. He had never seen a Norn like Nanum before, and it struck him how similar she looked to an elf! Perhaps he had himself a matching counterpart, if she decided to make friends with him. Nanum just wanted to explore, though, and those tiny baby legs took her right past the startled Santa Norn!
